Assembly

Yes, it's our assembly on Wednesday! We've practised the song (a tiny bit) and we've talked about it (a tiny bit) so I think I know what we'll be doing a lot next week.

The assembly has a pirate theme so if you already have a pirate costume or clothes that look a bit piratey (stripes; red and black, maybe blue; eye patch etc), you can wear them. It's Jeans for Genes day on Wednesday as well so we'll probably be wearing blue.

I hope nobody has to wear anything like this:

Have a good weekend!

There's No Business Like Showbusiness

The big day arrived and we did our assembly! Hurray! Now which was the nicest feeling: doing the assembly or knowing that we don't have to do it any more?

I thought everyone did very well. I could hear what was being said most of the time, nobody forgot anything and all the comments that I heard from the audience were positive. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves as well. We had lots of parents and families coming to watch and they seemed pleased with it. Some of them have even left a message for us in the post below!

Anyway, well done everyone! You can all heave a big sigh of relief that you don't have to do another one until Year 5. We can get back to doing lots of work again. Hurrah!

Today's Homework

  • Practice your words for tomorrow.

I think that the assembly practise is going really well. You've only had four days to learn the lines and the moves and everything else and you've done a great job. Make sure you concentrate tomorrow; relax, speak loudly and clearly and remember where to go and when to go. If you do all that, everyone will have a great time and the audience will really enjoy it.

Today's Homework

  • Daily Maths 2
  • Handwriting Workbook p.18-19 Please do both pages and remember that you have to actually write sentences, not just one word.

Assembly practice is going fairly well. I'm glad to see that some people have learned their words already. Keep trying at home if you haven't learned them yet. You also need to know who is speaking before you, not just your own bits.

We need two or three hobby horses. Hannah has one and Aly has a purple one but one or two more might be nice. The Spanish are supposed to be riding them when they come to Tenochtitlan.
