- Draw a map of an island - this will be part of work that continues for 6 weeks. This weekend you only need to draw a plan view of an island. Use your imagination! You are going to set up a base on the island so that scientists can come and study the plants and animals. There are no buildings on the island yet! There might be people; we don't know. Draw it on the squared paper I gave you and colour it if you want to do your best!
- Make a list in your topic book of all the services you see. Services are those businesses or buildings you might see where people have a job to do things for others, not just selling things. So, a petrol station is not a service (it sells petrol) but a mechanic is (he fixes your car). Try to find at least 5 and maybe more!
