Instructions

We've been struggling through instructions today, trying to write about how to build a shelter. One thing that we found very hard is including ALL the details that we need and remembering that we have to say EXACTLY what needs to be done. It's all about thinking from another person's point of view.

Anyway, here a useful website that guides you through the process of writing instructions: BBC Bitesize

Today's Homework

  1. Abacus PCM p.100
  2. Answer the questions about the Jeddah fountain and Jeddah roundabouts. You can print the answers or write them down. Remember what I said about using Wikipedia (try the Simple English option from the homepage) and ask Google questions.
  3. Island Homework 2 - write a story about your journey to the island. Try to include details about how you feel, what happened, how you got there, what you did for food and shelter. Write about planning the trip, making the journey and one night on the island. You should do this in your English Homework book, NOT on paper!
