Coughs and Sneezes

I'm sure a lot of us have heard about the 'flu virus that is affecting Mexico and spreading to other countries. It is something that can be very easy to spread around but should also be very easy to protect ourselves from. We had a talk at school today about good hygiene, washing and drying our hands and covering our mouth and nose when we cough or sneeze. This video shows why it's so important!

Today's Homework

  1. Daily Maths 1 & 2 (do this in your Maths Homework book)
  2. Grammar Workbook Unit 25 (in your Grammar Workbook)
  3. Collect the materials you need for your musical instrument - if you were absent when we started the designs, you don't need to do this.
  4. Find a narrative poem to bring to class on Wednesday - you don't need to learn it, you just need to bring it. Remember, a narrative poem is a poem with a story. Have a look on the poetry links for some ideas.
As usual, the homework is to hand in tomorrow, unless I say otherwise. If there is any (GOOD) reason why you can't do the homework, just ask an adult to write a note explaining why you can't do it.

Happy Holidays?

Welcome back everyone. And a very special welcome to our new student, Lauren. I know we'll all do our best to make her feel welcome in her new school and new country.

I hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing holiday. I think we were all ready for one after a very long second term. Now it's back to work again and only 9 short weeks until the end of year 5! What a lot of work we're going to have to squeeze in to that time!
